2025 Organic Field Day Set For Aug. 12

"Taking Organic Agriculture to the Next Level" is the theme of Western Illinois University’s 2025 Allison Organic Research and Demonstration Farm field day. The event will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12 in the Dakin Farm shop with presentations, followed by a complimentary lunch at noon featuring local farm products. The field day will conclude with a tour of the research and demonstration plots starting at 1:15 p.m. at the Allison Farm.

The Western Illinois University School of Agriculture successfully hosted the 53rd Annual Bull Test Sale on March 7 at the WIU Livestock Center. The evening showcased high-quality bulls, including Angus, Simmental, Percentage Simmental and Red Angus, along with WIU replacement heifers and bred cows, all contributing to a strong and well-attended sale with over 60 registered bidders and over 150 people in attendance.
