Counseling: Master of Science in Education
The WIU Department of Counselor Education, College Student Personnel, & Social Work offers accredited programs in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, preparing students through a diverse, supportive, and experience-focused curriculum.
As alumna Alicia Means (2018) shared, the program provides opportunities for growth, leadership, and professional development. Students learn from award-winning faculty and gain skills for careers in school and clinical settings.

Just Hired: Franco Perez
Meet Franco Perez, a graduate of Western Illinois Emergency Management (‘24) and a masters graduate in Public Safety Administration (‘25), who was hired as an instructor of Emergency Management at WIU.
