Counseling: Master of Science in Education
The WIU Department of Counselor Education, College Student Personnel, & Social Work offers accredited programs in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, preparing students through a diverse, supportive, and experience-focused curriculum.
As alumna Alicia Means (2018) shared, the program provides opportunities for growth, leadership, and professional development. Students learn from award-winning faculty and gain skills for careers in school and clinical settings.

Just Hired: Franco Perez
Meet Franco Perez, a graduate of Western Illinois Emergency Management (‘24) and a masters graduate in Public Safety Administration (‘25), who was hired as an instructor of Emergency Management at WIU.

WIU to Offer Online Bachelor of Science in Information Systems
The Western Illinois University School of Computer Sciences is expanding its academic offerings with the launch of a fully online Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, beginning Spring 2026. This new program builds on the School of Computer Sciences’ longstanding expertise in delivering face-to-face and online instruction.
