CBT 2001 Distinguished Alumnus

MACOMB, IL -- A 1977 graduate will receive the Western Illinois University 2001 College of Business and Technology (CBT) Distinguished Alumnus Award during CBT Week.
Marcus Sipolt, who will receive the award at a luncheon Monday, Oct. 1, is the president and managing member of Technical Business Consulting in Phoenix, AZ.
He began his career with Arthur Andersen Consulting in 1977, working up through the ranks from senior analyst to the level of partner responsible for New Jersey state and local government practice and Arizona and New Mexico state government practice. He also traveled internationally for Andersen Consulting teaching and running engagements in Europe and Asia. In Arizona he was responsible for many government projects including a major two-year project rewrite of the Arizona Child Support Enforcement Systems and the Phoenix Police Department's 911 dispatch dystems.
Sipolt received his accountancy degree from WIU and his MBA from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the CBT Advisory Council. Sipolt is also a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for Arizona State University's College of Education. He has been a member of such organizations as the National Association of Public Welfare Administration, the National Association of State and Provincial Lottery and the Arizona Software Association. Sipolt has also served as board treasurer for Noah's Ark, a facility for pre-adopted children; and as a committee member for the 2000 Fiesta Bowl.
Sipolt was a member of WIU's Centennial Campaign leadership and received a WIU Alumni Achievement Award in 2000.
