MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Leslie Mose, a dedicated member of Western Illinois University–Quad Cities and Office Support Specialist, has been recognized as the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for March.

Mose has devoted nearly 30 years of service to WIU and, throughout that time, has been a bright and welcoming presence to all who enter campus spaces. Known for continually expanding beyond the expectations of the role, Mose has demonstrated remarkable adaptability in meeting the evolving needs of the University community.

Consistently going above and beyond, Mose has taken on numerous additional responsibilities without hesitation. From running the front desk in the absence of student workers to maintaining and organizing kitchens, break rooms, mail rooms and shared spaces, Mose ensures daily operations run smoothly. Responsibilities also include managing materials and office supplies for outside organizations, handling course schedule printing for classrooms and completing countless behind-the-scenes tasks that keep campus environments functional and welcoming.

Mose exemplifies a "find a need, fill a need" mindset. During a recent campus moving process, Mose stepped forward to lead and support key projects, including sorting and organizing office materials, managing files and ensuring all resources were properly placed ahead of the semester. These efforts contributed to a seamless transition and resulted in a more efficient and organized front desk operation.

In addition to operational excellence, Mose is deeply committed to supporting students. By helping them navigate campus, assisting with book rentals and connecting them with resources, Mose serves as a reliable and approachable point of contact. This positive and caring presence has made Mose someone students, faculty and staff trust and depend on.

Mose's willingness to embrace new responsibilities and continuously improve daily operations reflects a strong commitment to service, personal growth and excellence, qualities that embody the core values of WIU.

As the Civil Service Employee of the Month, Mose will receive a $100 stipend (before taxes), a plaque, a reserved parking space and recognition through a University press release. Mose's photo will also be displayed by the Office of Human Resources and will be eligible for consideration for the Civil Service Employee of the Year Award in December.

The Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month Award recognizes Civil Service employees who demonstrate exceptional enthusiasm, effort and quality in job performance by going above and beyond their regular job duties. Nominations are placed as a permanent record in the recipient's personnel file.
