WIU Alumna Angelica Villareal Recognized for Community Impact Across Illinois

MOLINE/MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University-Moline School of Education proudly recognizes alumna Angelica Villareal for her impactful work supporting diverse communities across Illinois.

Originally from Monterrey, Mexico, Villareal has built a career rooted in service, education, and advocacy. She serves as a Project Manager at Iman Consulting, where she brings over 15 years of experience working with youth and families from diverse backgrounds.

In addition to her career, Villareal serves as a facilitator for the Clean River Advisory Council (CRAC) to support environmental initiatives, strengthen cultural connections to the Mississippi River and elevate underrepresented voices in decision-making.

Villareal graduated from Western Illinois University-Quad Cities, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Education in 2015 and master's degree in Educational Studies in 2024. She credits her journey and experiences for fueling her passion for community-based collaboration and collective impact work.

"My superpower is I'm bilingual… I'm passionate about helping folks that look like me," Villareal said.
