WIU Health Science Graduate Student Association Collaborates With McDonough County Health Dept.

MACOMB, IL - -The Western Illinois University Health Science Graduate Student Association (HSGSA) recently collaborated with the McDonough County Health Department to create a breast cancer awareness video focused on education, early detection and prevention.

The project highlighted breast cancer screening and an information application designed to improve access to reliable and accurate health information, screening reminders and community resources.

This initiative highlights a local public health collaboration focused on breast cancer awareness and early detection, combining community education with digital health innovation.

By introducing the app "Know you Lemons" alongside a locally developed informational video, the McDonough County Health Department is expanding access to preventative health resources and addressing barriers to screening within the community.
