WIU Department of Art & Design to host November “First Wednesday” Event

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Department of Art & Design is excited to host the "First Wednesday" event from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Garwood Hall, the Heating Plant Annex and the University Art Gallery.

This monthly program is open free to the public and all are welcome. WIU Art & Design faculty and students will collaborate to provide creative, hands-on projects across a wide range of media.

Activities for Nov. 5 include:

Garwood Hall
- Ink Drawing with Turkey Feather Quill Pens - Professor Tim Waldrop, Garwood 3
- A Feast for the Eyes: An Art Historical Scavenger Hunt with Prizes - Professor Sherry Lindquist, Garwood 10
- Silkscreened Holiday Cards - Professor Susan Czechowski, Garwood 11
- Mini Tie Pillows - Professor Ta-Teh Ku, Garwood 24
- Autumn themed watercolor paintings - Professor Damon McArthur, Garwood 25

Heating Plant Annex
- Embossed Metal Ornaments - Professor Kat Myers, HPA 107
- Wheel Mandalas - Professor Ian Shelly, HPA 111

The University Art Gallery will also be open during the event with the exhibition:
Jason Franz - Figure Ensō: Twenty-Two Years of Life Drawings

The Garwood Hall elevator is currently out of order so attendees will be required to climb stairs to participate in the activities.
