Just Hired: Chloe Sibert
October 16, 2025

MACOMB, IL - - Meet Chloe Sibert, a graduate of Western Illinois University's Music Education program, who was hired as the grades 5–12 Band Director and Guitar Teacher at Bushnell-Prairie City High School.
Sibert first connected with Bushnell-Prairie City (BPC) administrators at a WIU Career Fair, where she stopped by their table to say hello after previously completing her block teaching experience within the school district.
"Once I was talking with the principals, I found out they were looking for a new band director," Sibert said. "They gave me their contact information and after texting back and forth, we set up an interview. I was so nervous, but I tried to be as honest as possible and they really appreciated that."
A few days later, Sibert received the call offering her the position.
During her time at WIU, Sibert said she gained valuable skills in classroom management, lesson planning, communication, teamwork and professionalism, which prepared her for her new role.
"My professors pushed me outside of my comfort zone," Sibert said. "That really helped me grow into the educator I am today."
Sibert plans to stay connected to WIU through the Alumni Band and by attending band concerts and games whenever possible.
