WIU Art and Design Presents Solo Exhibition Oct. 7-Nov. 14

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Art Gallery will host "Figure Ensō: Twenty-Two Years of Life Drawings," a solo exhibition by Cincinnati, Ohio artist Jason Franz, on display Tuesday, Oct. 7 through Thursday, Nov. 14.

A reception for the artist will be held from 4:30–6 p.m. Tuesday, with an artist talk scheduled for 5 p.m.
Franz is a Cincinnati-based artist, educator, and director/cofounder of the nonprofit arts organization Manifest. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in 1988 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1998. He taught at both institutions, as well as at Xavier University, from 1997 through 2012. Franz continues to exhibit his drawings nationally, with works included in multiple museum and private collections across the United States.

He resides in Cincinnati with his wife, Brigid O'Kane and daughter, Alexandra Franz, who are both artists as well.
Admission to the exhibition and reception is free and open to the public. Parking near the gallery will be allowed starting at 4 p.m.
