WIU Community Music School to Offer 2025 Summer Music Camps

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Community Music School (CMS) is now accepting registrations for the 2025 Summer Music Camps. Designed for children of all ages and experience levels, these half-day and full-day camps provide a supportive and engaging environment for students to explore music, develop skills and enjoy making music with others.

Students can choose from a variety of camp options, whether they are new to music or looking to build on previous experience. Each camp is led by experienced instructors who create a fun and encouraging atmosphere for learning.

An early registration scholarship is available to all students through Thursday, May 1. Those who register by this date will receive a 20% discount, funded by the WIU Performing Arts Society, by using the code "EARLY20" in the registration portal.

The schedule of events includes:

Week One: June 2-6
• Rocky's Pups Music Camp; ages 6-8; 9 a.m.-noon
• Rocky's Music Camp; ages 9-12; 9 a.m.-noon
• Instrument Exploration: Woodwinds & Percussion; ages 9-13; 1-3:30 p.m.
• Piano Camp; ages 12-18; 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Week Two - June 9-13
• Rocky's Pups Music Camp; ages 6-8; 9 a.m.-noon
• Rocky's Music Camp; ages 9-12; 9 a.m.-noon
• Vocal Camp; ages 12-18; 9 a.m.-noon
• Instrument Exploration: Brass & Strings; ages 9-13; 1-3:30 p.m.

Week Three: June 16-20
• Strings Camp; ages 8-14; 9 a.m.-noon
• Band Camp; ages 12-18; 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
• Jazz Camp; ages 12-18; 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
• Jazz + Band Camp; ages 12-18 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
• Music Educator Jazz Intensive; for college students and professional music educators; 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
