WIU to Celebrate Women's History Month 2025

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University will celebrate Women's History Month 2025 with a series of events highlighting the contributions and impact of women throughout history. This year's theme, "Moving Forward Together! Women Educators Inspire Generations: Global Historical Perspectives," underscores the essential role of women in shaping education worldwide.
A key event in the celebration is the 10th Annual WIU Department of History Women's History Month Panel, which will occur from 4-5 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, in the Malpass Library Garden Lounge. The panel will feature WIU faculty members, including Professors Krista Bowers Sharpe, Ginny Boynton, Febe Pamonag and Ute Chamberlin, who will discuss the historical influence of women educators across global contexts.
This event is co-sponsored by the WIU Department of History and WIU Libraries. It provides an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and community members to engage in meaningful dialogue on the legacy and future of women in education.
