Women’s Center Ready to Celebrate Women’s History Month in March

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Women's Center is proud to celebrate Women's History Month this March with a series of engaging and empowering events dedicated to honoring the achievements, resilience and contributions of women.
The month-long celebration will include discussions, performances, interactive events and community gatherings that foster reflection, empowerment and advocacy.
"This year's events focus on amplifying women's voices, celebrating our collective strength and encouraging meaningful conversations about identity, empowerment and social change," said Anita and Patience, graduate assistants at the Women's Center.
Some of the events held this month will be:
Saturday, March 1, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Walk a Mile in Her Shoes (Q Lot)
Kick off Women's History Month with this impactful march that raises awareness about sexual violence and gender-based issues, as men and allies participate by walking in high heels.

Thursday, March 6, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. - International Women's Day (MCC)
Stop by the Women's Center to celebrate International Women's Day with gift baskets and Polaroid pictures, honoring the achievements and contributions of women worldwide.

Monday, March 17, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. - EL EmPODERamieNto De MUjeRes (Women's Panel) – (University Union Lamoine Room)
A powerful panel highlighting the experiences of women in leadership, activism and identity.
In Collaboration with: Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority, Inc.
Wednesday, March 19, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. - Bingo Night (University Union Grand Ballroom)
A fun-filled evening with prizes and community bonding.
In Collaboration with: Council on Student Activity Funds (CSAF), University Union Board (UUB) and Veterans Resource Center (VRC)
Thursday, March 20, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - The Vagina Monologues (MCC)
A moving performance of The Vagina Monologues, showcasing real stories of women's experiences, struggles and triumphs.
Saturday, March 22, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Women's Empowerment Brunch (MCC)
A morning of empowerment, networking, brunch and celebration of women's accomplishments.
In Collaboration with: The Golden Motion, The Good Girl Movement and The National Association of Colored Women's Club (NACWC)
Thursday, March 27, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. - Women in the Military Panel (MCC)
A panel discussion on the experiences, challenges and achievements of women in the military.
In Collaboration with: Military Appreciation Club
Monday, March 31, 5 PM - 7 PM - Paint & Sip (MCC)
Wrap up Women's History Month with a creative and relaxing painting session.
