Multilingual Education Conference April 26

MOLINE, IL— Educators and advocates for multilingual education will gather at Western Illinois University's Riverfront Hall in Moline on Saturday, April 26, for the WQPT PBS + WIU-QC Multilingual Education Conference. This one-day event, which will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., will explore diverse topics in the practice and theory of multilingual education.

Sara Mendez, the 2024 Illinois Bilingual Teacher of the Year and Illinois Policy Fellow with Teach Plus IL, will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Attendees will also be able to participate in various breakout sessions, network with peers, and access valuable community resources.

Professional development credits will be available for applicable sessions through ISBE and Gateways, with details provided upon registration.

Registration is $40 per person, covering:


  • Breakfast and lunch

  • Access to breakout sessions

  • Professional development credits

  • Community resources
