Patrice Tanaka - Live Your Life Purpose & Unleash Joy

MACOMB, IL - - Western Illinois University will host "Live Your Life Purpose & Unleash Joy" with best-selling author and public speaker Patrice Tanaka from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, February 13 in the Multicultural Center Boardroom. This free event is open to all students and is sponsored by the Anti-Racism Task Force (ARTF).
Tanaka is an entrepreneur and co-founder of three award-winning public relations and marketing agencies, as well as the consultancy Joyful Planet and the 501c3 Joyful Planet Foundation. She is dedicated to helping individuals and organizations become purpose-driven, leveraging their talents and passions to serve others and create meaningful impact.
"Living your purpose is the key to unlocking greater success, fulfillment and joy," Tanaka said. "It empowers emerging leaders to gain clarity, focus and drive, ensuring that every decision they make aligns with their aspirations."
Tanaka is the co-author of best-selling books "Beat the Curve" and "Performance360," where she explores life and organizational purpose. She is also the author of "Becoming Ginger Rogers...How Ballroom Dancing Made Me a Happier Woman, Better Partner and Smarter CEO," a memoir about her journey to discovering joy through dance.
"We are excited to welcome Patrice Tanaka to WIU to share her insights on purpose-driven leadership," said Kaitlyn Crisantos, vice president of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion of the Student Government Association and a member of the Anti-Racism Task Force. "Her message connects with our commitment to empowering students to lead with intention and make a positive impact in their communities."
