Patricia Jones Obituary

MACOMB, IL - - Former Western Illinois University instructor, academic advisor and international student advisor and director Patricia Jones, 76, of Macomb, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Jones was raised in the Abingdon area, graduating from WIU with an Education degree in 1970. After spending 10 years as a teacher in Yates City and Pinckneyville, she went on to work as an English as a Second Language teacher, academic advisor and international student advisor and director until retiring in 2008.

Jones came back to WIU in 2010 as the interim director of the English as a Second Language program before retiring a second time in 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Donald D. Jones and a great niece.

She is survived by her son, Mehdi G. Zadeh, granddaughter, Laila Avery Zadeh; brother, Reverend David (Linda) Jones; three nieces, a nephew and several great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 and the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, at First Christian Church in Macomb.
