MACOMB, IL - - As the WIU Nursing Director, Patricia Eathington finds joy in seeing her students succeed.
Eathington, a WIU faculty member since 2009, said a culture of community and loyalty sets Leathernecks apart from others, creating a sense of pride and loyalty throughout the institution.
"I love watching students pour their heart and soul into the nursing program, overcoming challenges and hardships and then graduating to become incredible nurses," Eathington said.
As students consider furthering their education, Eathington suggests students explore what they can be involved in both inside and outside the classroom. Students are sure to find something they love at WIU.
"Get involved in clubs," Eathington said. "Join one related to your major to enhance your skills, but also explore a fun club outside your field to meet new people and discover different opportunities."
As we honor 125 years of educational excellence, we invite WIU students, alumni, faculty and staff to share their stories and be featured in our series by filling out this form, or contact University Communications at U-Communications@wiu.edu to participate.
