Librarian Selected for NEH Summer Institute on The History of Higher Education

MACOMB, IL - - The Western Illinois University Libraries is pleased to announce Archives and Special Collections Librarian Michael Lorenzen was selected to participate in a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Summer Institute on "The History of Higher Education."

The four-week summer institute titled "Unpacking the History of Higher Education in the U.S." will happen for one week in person in June 2024 at George Mason University and during three subsequent weeks via Zoom.

By the end of the program, each participant will have contributed to a robust Open Educational Resource (OER) on a topic of their choosing regarding the history of higher education to facilitate teaching and learning nationally. Lorenzen plans to use the exhibit "Higher Education in Western Illinois" as his research topic, which was an exhibit displayed at Malpass Library in Fall 2023.
