MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University School of Management and Marketing students attended the 2024 National Retail Federation-Student Program (NRF) in January.

"The NRF-Student Program is a great opportunity for students to hear from top retail executives about current retail trends and how they can get involved and be successful in the retail industry. These networking opportunities give our students future connections and potential mentoring opportunities," WIU Management and Marketing Assistant Professor Susan Creasey said. "Having the student program in NYC also allows students to see retail on a much larger scale."

WIU Student Ambassador and junior, Marketing major Leah Ahlers, Ray Greenly Scholar and senior, Supply Chain Management major Madison Butts and Rising Star Recipient and sophomore, Management major Kaitlyn Moon attended the two-day program in New York City, along with more than 1,300 college students.

This opportunity allowed WIU students to explore unique opportunities in retail and expand their knowledge of the dynamic world of the retail industry. They were able to hear from retail executives from various areas including marketing, management, supply chain, entrepreneurship, technology and human resources. Additionally, students explored career paths at the featured career fair with more than 30 retail companies present. All attended the NRF-Student Program on scholarships provided by the NRF.

WIU senior, Marketing major Peace Agbavito has been selected to serve as the student ambassador for the NRF Student Program for 2025.
