WIU-QC to Host Engineering Week 2024

MOLINE, IL - - Western Illinois University-Quad Cities' Academic Club of Engineering (ACE) and Women in Engineering groups will host Engineering Week 2024, Monday-Friday, Feb. 19-Feb. 23 on the Quad Cities campus with some engaging activities for students and peers to participate in throughout the week.

"Engineering week provides opportunities for middle and high school students in the local area to become engaged in engineering by exposing them to the problem solving and group skills all engineers use in daily life," ACE President Ryan Vance said. "We hope you join us for the fun."

Related activities and events for the week include:

Wednesday, Feb. 21, 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Academic Club of Engineering will be hosting coding for middle school students in Riverfront Hall.
Friday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Women In Engineering will be holding an Egg Drop Competition for high school students in QC Complex Atrium.

Engineering students from around the region will also have the opportunity to attend the QC Career Expo, sponsored by WIU's Center for Career Preparation and Employer Engagement and other area college career centers. Future engineers can connect with more than 80 employers about internships and career opportunities from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the Bend XPO in East Moline, IL.
