WIU SET to Host Seminar Series Every Wednesday

MACOMB/MOLINE, IL - - The Western Illinois University School of Engineering and Technology will host a seminar series every Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. on the Quad Cities campus in Riverfront Hall, rooms 103/104. This seminar series is open to any WIU student.

"Seminars provide engineering and technology students a venue to network and be exposed to our partners in industry, government and consulting industries," Engineering Professor Blair McDonald said. "Seminars allow regional businesses and government agencies an opportunity to introduce their offices, promote their industry and highlight special projects to our students."

These organizations present on topics from all avenues of engineering and technology within the region.

Engineering and Technology Seminar Series schedule:


  • Wednesday, March 1, 4-5 p.m.: IMEG,

  • Wednesday, March 8, 4-5 p.m.: Willett Hoffman and Associates, Inc.

  • Wednesday, March 22, 4-5 p.m.: Eckhart

  • Wednesday, March 29, 4-5 p.m.: US ARMY JMC

  • Wednesday, April 5, 4-5 p.m.: Bruner, Cooper & Zuck, Inc.

  • Wednesday, April 26, 4-5 p.m.: PCT Ebeam


Several courses and some scholarships require seminar attendance. Students can add a seminar to their academic schedule by enrolling in ENGR 100 Engineering Study and seminar, a zero-credit (no tuition is charged) repeatable course.
