Library Funds and Endowments:

- Library Atrium Society Fund
- Annual giving society which supports general operation expenditures as well as books and equipment. Gifts not otherwise designated will be placed in this fund.
- Music Library Fund
- Supports the collections and services of the Sallee Hall Music Library.
- Curriculum Library Fund
- Supports the collection and services of the Horrabin Hall Curriculum Library, including books, textbooks, teaching materials and equipment.
- Dr. Yan Lwin Physical Sciences Fund
- Named in honor of retired Physics Professor, Dr. Yan Lwin, this fund supports the acquisition of materials and equipment relating to the library physical sciences collection.
- Archives & Special Collections Fund
- Supports the purchase of rare and important regional and historical materials for the Archives & Special Collections Unit.
- William H. and Eva Little Graham Libraries’ Student Assistant Scholarship Fund
- Named in honor of the late William H. and Eva Little Graham, a student at WIU from 1903-1904, this fund supports scholarships for students employed in the University Libraries.
- Legal Acquisitions Fund
- Allows purchases of legal reference materials that support the legal research needs of students, faculty, local attorneys and West Central Illinois residents.
- Leslie F. Malpass Endowment
- Endowed by former WIU President, Leslie F. Malpass, this unrestricted fund supports collections and services of the University Libraries.
- Lyndal Swofford Endowment
- Created by former Library Director, Lyndal Swofford, this fund supports the paperback book general reading collection, equipment purchases and staff development.
- Dr. Elizabeth A. Kaspar Women’s Lecture Series Endowment
- Established by Professor Emeritus Dr. Elizabeth Kaspar, a member of the former educational foundations department, this fund supports a lecture series highlighting accomplished women, particularly those in the STEM areas.
- Dr. Felix and Nancy Chu Multicultural Book Collection
- Named after former Associate Dean of Libraries, Dr. Felix Chu and his wife Nancy, this fund supports the internationalization of the WIU campus and community through purchases of works of fiction with themes of cultural, ethnic, racial and immigrant issues.
- Judaic Book Library Collection
- Supports the collection of Judaica, including the purchase of books, periodicals and encyclopedias.
- Jeff Leibovitz Special Collection of Holocaust Education Materials
- Created in memory of Alumnus Jeff Leibovitz, this fund supports a variety of materials that assist schools in developing K-8 curriculum in Holocaust Studies. The fund established a repository for oral and written records of Holocaust survivors and liberators.
- Linnea Self Health Sciences Collection
- Named in honor of former Dean of Libraries, Dr. Phyllis Self’s daughter Linnea, this fund supports the Health Sciences Collection.
- Petersen Ornithological Collection
- Named in honor of Mary Lou Petersen and her late husband Peter, this fund supports the unique and high-quality ornithological research collection donated by the couple.
- Professorship in Icarian and Regional Studies Endowment
- Supports research and scholarly activities based on the global Icarian movement and other regional historical initiatives.
- Haines Family Fund for Regional Studies
- Established by Vilma and Lionel Kinney to honor Vilma’s family. The fund is designed to support research and publication on the history and development of western Illinois, home of the Haines family.
- Honor with Books
- Allows for the purchase of a book in honor or in memory of an individual. A name plate will be placed in the book and added to the University Libraries’ collection.
