Biography

Russell Glaue is an instructor of Software Engineering in the School of Computer Sciences at Western Illinois University. He is also an Enterprise Technology Systems Engineer and Enterprise Architect managing complex enterprise-class computer systems, a DevOps Engineer orchestrating the delivery of highly available software applications on the Internet and around the globe, a Security Engineer analyzing indicators of compromise and threat actor activity and determining security practices and policies, and a Technical Analyst developing and navigating processes and policies.

Russell currently manages engineering projects for a global commercial company that spread across the domains of infrastructure architecture, software engineering and architecture, and security. Russell's previous roles within WIU included managing multiple government and non-profit internet projects both in infrastructure and software, and also an interim role as the manager of WIU's online learning technology between 2020-2021 helping WIU transition to the next level of online learning. Russell is also currently a Software Engineering trainer specializing in an Enterprise Engineering approach to Software Engineering, knowledge management, automation techniques including semantics and cybernetics, and Risk Management. He is also a trainer and coach for entry level software engineers and junior level software engineers to evaluate speciality fields, increase basic and advanced skills, personal project management and estimation objectives, career matching, and career readiness.

Russell is available as a WIU knowledge expert to give talks on topics in the areas of: Enterprise Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Security Engineering, Software Engineering including web application and graphic design, Internet Advertising and Marketing including Search Engine Optimization, Infrastructure Architecture, the History of the Internet, the History of the World Wide Web, Online Privacy, Online Security.
