About Me
I currently am an Associate Professor of Psychology at Western Illinois University. I have been a member of the faculty since August 1998. Prior to coming to WIU, I completed a Postdoctoral fellowship and worked at The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA where I also had a private practice in Psychology. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi and completed my Clinical Internship at the Palo Alto VAMC. I have been active in the Society of Clinical Geropsychology, having served as President, and Membership Chair for the organization. I am also an active member of the American Psycholgical Association and belong to Division 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology) and Division 20 (Adult Development and Aging) and the Gerontological Society of America.
I grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania (Erie). I completed my Bachelor's degree at Long Island University and my Master's degree at the University of Chicago. My mother and father taught me to appreciate the value of education and hard work. My mother was an entrepreneur as the owner and operator of her own beauty salon and my father worked for over 30 years as a manager of a state liquor store in Pennsylvania. Both of parents are now deceased.
My hobbies include running and hanging out with my wife and two Jack Russell Terriers
