Mathematical Concept(s) Illuminated: When the perimeter if
fixed, there are various shapes (and various areas) which can be constructed
with the fixed area.
How important is a demonstration prior to student use?
Mildly important. It may be useful to demonstrate this applet ahead of time,
but
it wouldn't be required in all circumstances. Notes: Segments can be rotated and
once the shape is constructed, the student must click DONE.
