The Western Illinois University Department of Art & Design hosted its Ninth Annual High School Art Exhibition & Awards Oct. 31, showcasing creative works from talented high school artists across the region.

During the event, students participated in studio workshops, portfolio reviews with WIU Art & Design faculty, and tours of WIU’s art facilities, while learning more about the University’s art and design programs over a complimentary lunch.

WIU Department of Art & Design Announces Winners of Ninth Annual High School Art Exhibition & Awards

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University Department of Art & Design hosted its Ninth Annual High School Art Exhibition & Awards Oct. 31.

The annual event provides high school students an opportunity to showcase their artwork, participate in studio workshops and take part in portfolio reviews with WIU Art & Design faculty. Participants also enjoyed complimentary lunch, tours of WIU's art facilities and information sessions about the University's art and design programs.

This year's top honors went to Liyah York, who received Best in Show and Adriana Weaver, who earned the Blick Visionary Award.

The WIU High School Art Exhibition is open to all high school students and offers the chance to submit up to two works for display. During the event, scholarships and prizes are awarded to outstanding artists, with special recognition for high school seniors.
