Music and Well-Being

Picture of man playing bassoon with health icons surrounding him. Text aout Music Library Lecture Series

Music performance can be beneficial for its practitioners, but involves certain health risks, as well. To educate musicians and others about these risks, the University Libraries’ Music Library will be hosting a series of lectures exploring the connections between well-being and music. The lectures will explore these risks as well as techniques that musicians can use to prevent them.

The lectures coincide with the “Music and Health” display currently viewable in the Music Library (Sallee 108). The display, put together by staff and student workers in the Music Library, features library resources on a range of topics related to music and health.

All lectures will take place in Room 230 of Sallee Hall, and though targeted towards musicians, are open to the public.
