Text-giving to University Libraries

Users can visit the text-giving site on a desktop or any mobile device, and easily select how much they would like to give, and to which of the library’s specific endowments and funds they’d like their donation to go. Mobile users can also text LIB to 41444 to make a gift. The aim of this new option is to make giving to the Libraries as quick and hassle-free as possible. Partial Eclipse Viewing Available at WIU

October
A viewing event for an upcoming partial solar eclipse will be held from 4:40-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 on the sixth floor of the Leslie F. Malpass Library. The event is open free to the public. Observation areas with telescopes will be set up in the Archives and Special Collections room of the Library.

WIU Open Access Task Force to Present Findings

The WIU Open Access Task Force will hold three open forums to present their findings to the University community. Open Forums will be held in the Union Capitol Room, with a connection to the QC Campus. Click here for more details.

Fall Fiction Frenzy! Malpass Library Book Sale!

Western Illinois University Libraries will be hosting a fall Book Sale Monday, November 10, 2014 through Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Leslie F. Malpass Library.

WIU's Sequel Yearbook Collection

September
As part of Western Illinois University's October 3-4, 2014 Homecoming Celebration festivities, WIU Libraries takes a retrospective look back at the classes of 1964, 1974,1984 and 1989. Times of revolution and reaction in fashion, music, society and university life were documented in The Sequel (WIU's official yearbook). The Sequel was published from 1905-2006 and was digitally captured by WIU Libraries to preserve an important collection documenting our University's history and lore.

Banned and Determined: WIU Libraries Host Banned Book Celebration

In honor of Banned Books Week, the Western Illinois University Libraries will host its 7th annual "Banned and Determined" event on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at noon, in Room 180 of the Leslie F. Malpass Library.

In May, University Libraries will say a fond farewell to Dr. Felix Chu, Associate Dean for Library Operations. Dr. Chu will retire May 31st, after 30 years of service.
