Dean's Review: General Public Survey

Every four years the dean of WIU Libraries goes through a formal review process. Part of the review is a self-evaluation by the dean. Another part is a review completed by a committee elected by library faculty and staff. For Dean Phyllis Self's 2010 four year review, the committee decided to design a survey which could be distributed to the many constituencies which use WIU Libraries, including library employees and the WIU campus community. As far as is known, this is the first time the general public has been invited to participate in the review, and the committee is hopeful individuals who have had contact with Dean Self between 2006 and 2010 will contribute their comments about their interactions with her. Results from the anonymous survey, which should take about 10 minutes to complete, will be compiled by the search committee and submitted to the Provost at the end of the fall 2010 semester. "We encourage all individuals who have had contact with Dean Self to complete the anonymous survey," Jeff Hancks, Chair of the Dean's Review Committee said. "WIU Libraries plays an important role in the community, and we are hopeful our general public users will contribute with their thoughts about her leadership."
