Amy Burke, MS, CCC/SLP joined the WIU faculty Speech Pathology & Audiology faculty in 2010. Mrs. Burke currently teaches SPA 212 (Phonetics), SPA 381 (Introduction to Speech Sound Disorders), SPA 525 (Dysphagia: Assessment and Intervention), and SPA 535 (Voice Disorders). She also supervises clinical students, both in the WIU Speech and Language Clinic, Bridgeway Community Day Services, and in the Adapted Activities for All Motor Clinic. Her professional interests include dysphagia, voice disorders, and speech sound disorders in all ages.

Prior to coming to WIU, Mrs. Burke practiced as a speech-language pathologist in medical settings for 20 years. Her experience has included working in private practice, early intervention, long-term care, home health, hospice, and hospitals. She is a certified provider of Vital Stim therapy and can perform fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES).

Mrs. Burke is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
