Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship

HISTORY:

The Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship was established in 1996 by members of Phi Delta Kappa at Western Illinois University. The purpose of the Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship is to encourage individuals to enter the teaching profession through the recognition of strong academic achievement.

CRITERIA:   

  • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA at WIU or as a transfer student, have a 3.0 GPA for all work taken at all previous colleges or universities attended
  • Good judicial standing at WIU
  • Admitted into the Teacher Education Program.
  • Demonstrate an intent to pursue an initial Teacher Education degree

TERMS:

Award amount is determined by the annual interest earnings on the endowment. The duration of the scholarship shall normally be for one academic semester.

In any year in which there are no qualified applicants, income may be accumulated

SELECTION PROCESS:

Final selection will be made by the Office of Teacher Education Scholarship Committee.
