Student Organizations

Student organizations are ways that students can connect with like-minded students on campus and gain valuable leadership experience. Through involvement with organizations students are able to learn networking skills that will be vital as they begin their careers.

For a full list of student organizations, please visit the  Leatherneck Link.

In addition, there are three departmental student organizations to which students may choose to belong:

Environmental Service Club

The mission of this club is to, "Provide members with a fun, social, physical outlet to assist in the development and conservation of Horn Field Campus, as well as to provide an opportunity for members to assist other organizations in the environmental well-being of Macomb and WIU communities, through direct experience". Meetings are typically held at 6 pm on Wednesdays.

For more information, please contact Mindy Pheiffer, Director of Horn Field Campus, at mj-pheiffer@wiu.edu.

Student Recreation Associations

The purpose of the Student Recreation Associations is to assist with the creation of recreation experiences and events for the students, staff, and faculty on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses. These organizations also engage in activities that help promote the professional development of undergraduate and graduate students in the Recreation, Park, Tourism, and Hospitality program at WIU. The SRA meets on a regular basis throughout the school year, and regularly organizes events attended by faculty and students from both campuses.

For more information in Macomb, please contact Megan Owens, Associate Professor, at mh-owens@wiu.edu.
For more information in the Quad Cities, please contact Katherine Broughton, Associate Professor, at ka-broughton@wiu.edu.
