Agriculture Education students

Known as one of the premier programs in the state, WIU's Agriculture Education program strives to teach the future of our society about the agriculture industry. Students graduating from the program are the teachers, communicators, leaders, trainers, and advocates for agriculture.

The field-based curriculum enables students to gain valuable hours of practical experience prior to student teaching. WIU students go into their final performance assessments well prepared to earn their Illinois teaching license and excel in their future classrooms.

"WIU isn't an overwhelming place, and you will not get lost in the shuffle. The size of the program and dedication of the staff allows them to identify key areas to work on, and then provide an opportunity to improve those areas. There were so many teaching experiences prior to student teaching. I was able to have many individual interactions that I wouldn't have gotten at a larger university." Colton Downs '18
