ERIC is searchable using the publication date field. Combining a publication date search with a descriptor search is useful strategy if you want to restrict searches in ERIC to a particular year or set of years. Why you would want to do this: Faculty sometimes require that research can only be a certain number of years old. "I want you to use nothing published before 1997."
