WIU Libraries welcomes the use of its classrooms by WIU faculty and staff for legitimate university-related purposes. Because the classrooms were built for the purpose of providing the university community with library instruction, there are a few restrictions regarding the amount of use and instillation of course-related software. These restrictions exist to make sure as many faculty as possible have access to the rooms and to make the best use of the library's limited staff resources.

Room Use
Classrooms are available for use only during regular library hours. Click here for the library's hours of operation.

Generally speaking, faculty may reserve a classroom no more than three hours for any class, e.g. no more than three times for a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class or two times for a Tuesday/Thursday class, or once for a class meeting once a week for three hours. An exception to this rule is made for Library Information Resources (LIB) 201, a for-credit course taught by library faculty.

Course-Related Software

Requests for installing any additional course related software must be made no less than two weeks in advance of the date of the scheduled use of the room to Rick Williams (8-2758) of WIU Libraries Computing Services. Mr. Williams will decide if the library computing staff has the time and resources to install the software.
