2004-2008 FIPSE Grant ($275,000) - Received the 2004 ‘Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education’ grant for developing and implementing the program “Tri-National Competencies across Borders and Corporate Social Responsibility”. The project was submitted by six universities working under the guidelines of the governments of the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Consortium members include the University of Vermont and Western Illinois University from the United States; Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro and Universidad Panamericana from Mexico; the University of Sherbrooke and the University of Moncton in Canada. This project will develop specific international skills and greater understanding of corporate social responsibility for the next generation of NAFTA managers. Consortium members will work collaboratively to prepare students by enhancing their expertise to communicate across social, cultural, and linguistic borders, by deepening their understanding of the role of business in society, competitiveness, social responsibilities, and reputation risk management, and by developing their abilities to assess and create effective business practices in the expanding NAFTA marketplace. |
2005-2007 BIE grant ($ 115,000) - Received a grant from the ‘United States Department of Education’s ‘Business and International Education’ program to develop project EAGER. The ‘Exports: Agricultural Growth and Economic Recovery’ project is aimed to help small and medium sized businesses export Illinois agricultural products to entities in the Indian sub-continent (India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh). |

Received a grant from the ‘Office of Sponsored Projects’ ($1,000) - March, 2004 to develop a proposal for external funding. |
Received an Instructional Improvement Grant, 2000 ($1,700) to write a case study on a North American Engineering Company that is involved in a multi-million dollar infrastructure development project in India. The case is currently being used in the MBA courses. |
Received Instructional Improvement Grant ($1,000) for starting a ‘Research Seminar Series’ in the College of Business and Technology. This series became so popular that it is now elevated to the University-level and is financially sponsored by three bodies – College of Business and Technology, Office of the Sponsored Projects, and Office of the Faculty Development. |
