In-Class Portion

This portion of the exam has three questions:

  1. Go the Geometry 2 of Math Java applets at http://www.ies.co.jp/math/products/geo2/menu.html. Follow the Pythagorean Theorem(5) link and perform the transformations to demonstrate the Pythagorean Theorem. When completed, call over Dr. Olsen.

  1. Go to the Correspondence exercise (which is one of the "Interactive exercises") on the WIMS site at http://wims.unice.fr/wims/. Perform difficulty level 3 twice. Your goal is to get "10/10" twice in a row. Each time you get "10/10" call over Dr. Olsen. Note that you may wish to record ordered pairs on this paper (perhaps on the back).

  1. Int is the greatest integer function. Find the value of each of the following (without a calculator). X=6.781 ; Y=45.3486; Z=110. Put your answers in the blanks.
    1. Int(10*X) = ________
    2. Int(100*Y + .5)/100 = ________
    3. Z - 8*Int(Z/8) = ________
