~ Notes ~ Macomb Math Olympiads

The purpose of this page is to establish some general guidelines for the Macomb Math Olympiads to make things go smoothly this year and in the future.

Dates

Next year we would like to start the Macomb Math Olympiads coaching sessions in October for Edison and the Junior High. (The 5 contests are in November through March.)

Materials

Problems for use in the coaching sessions on topics will be taken from the Contest Problems book as follows ("set #10" is 2004-2005):

2008-09	2009-10	2010-11	(future)
Set #1-3 Vol.1(old bk.): Olympiad #1-25	Set #4-6 Vol.1(old bk.): Olympiad #26-50	Set #7-10 Vol.1(old bk.): Olympiad #51-75	(cycle repeats)

 

 

 

Example contests (all five questions) will be taken from the Contest Problems book (actually the 3 previous years) as follows:

2008-09	2009-10	2010-11	(future)
05-06 contests	06-07 contests	07-08 contests	(cycle continues)

 

 

Contest and Contest Make-Ups

1. Contests are given at the normal meeting time (usually on Mondays), as per the schedule. The contests generally take about 45 minutes.
2. If a student must miss a scheduled contest date, the student or the parent should contact Dr. Mann to see if it is possible to take the contest at a different time.
