Fair Trade Campaign
WASC is proud to be raising awareness for Fair Trade products, such as fairly traded coffee and chocolate. Each of these wonderful products are not only enjoyable, but can be part of economic and educational development around the world. WASC supports the aim of Fair Trade to offer fair prices and wages for laborers around the world, educational opportunities, democracy in the workplace, gender equality, environmental sustainability, and promoting a stronger voice for individuals involved in all stages of the marketing process!
To support this, part of our on-going fundraising campaign is to offer Fairly Traded, Shade Grown, Organic coffees from Just Coffee Coop in Madison, WI. We sell the following blends, freshly roasted before the time of sale (not kept on the shelf for months!) in the hope of spreading the Fair Trade message!
ROCKET FUEL – Try this French Roast grown by the members of the Dominican Republic FEDECARES coffee cooperative!
SUSTAIN YOUR DAY BLEND – Try this Dark Roast grown by the members of the Peruvian Pangoa coffee cooperative!
ONE WORLD BLEND – Try this Medium Roast grown by the members of the Guatemalan Santa Anita coffee cooperative!
RELAX (A BIT) BLEND – Try this half-caff blend of fair trade dark Bolivian and Peruvian caffeinated coffees!
The profits from this sale of this coffee directly support the activities of the members of the Western Anthropology and Sociology Club (WASC). Your purchase not only benefits WASC students, but also demonstrates your commitment to helping us focus on our university theme of global challenges, personal responsibility, and environmental sustainability.
