While I was in Tallahassee, my wife gave me an ornamental pepper plant. The peppers were technically inedible, but very hot. I dropped a couple of the peppers into a bottle of homebrew, capped it, and waited. The resulting fiery beer began my obsession with the chile. I grow at least seven varieties each year, along with two varieties of tomato, onions, and garlic. Sounds like salsa to me!

If the camera is not otherwise engaged, you can see the chiles growing in my office here.

I have also grown lettuce and carrots in my office windowbox.

Here we have this year's office carrot crop.

I suppose some people think I'm nuts -- I just think it's fun to grow veggies in a place where most people would have houseplants.
