Please prepare for class Thursday with these five things.
I had decided to give you the Williams Style handout instead of putting it on the web, but since class was cancelled today... here is a link. This contains all of the selections you will need this semester. This is a fairly big file, so if you do not have fast internet (cable, ResNet, etc) be patient. If you have problems downloading or reading this file, email me ASAP.
I would also like you to read this page about the "Paramedic method" for fixing style. It complements the Williams selections well.
If you could print both the Style selections and the Paramedic method handout that would be great.
I believe I have emailed everyone about their how-to drafts. If you did not get an email, please email or call me ASAP.
Finally, for Thursday: read chapter 1 and 2 of the Style handout and the paramedic method handout. The former should be review (since I went over it in class last week). We will discuss this material and Reading Rhetorically Chapter 2 on Thursday.
