Assignments
There are two major assignments in the course. Both will be hypertext projects which you post on the Web using the resources provided by WIU. See the schedule provided with this syllabus for more information. A detailed assignment sheet for the first hypertext project has been posted. The final project assignment is also posted.
Graduate students will supplement the regular work of the course with one major additional assignment.
Other assignments include the following:
- You will produce a home page that provides access to all the work you produce in the course, as well as personal information or other content you’d like to include.
- You will be responsible for a discussion provocation which we’ll use to jump-start class discussions, and to ensure that my take on the readings doesn’t monopolize the course content.
- Group work will be used to prompt discussion and help you get started with the hypertext projects. Though group assignments make up a small portion of your final grade, they provide an excellent opportunity for you to work through the readings in a collaborative setting.
- An email discussion list will give everyone an opportunity to ask questions about readings and assignments, and discuss readings and other matters related to the course.
- For both major assignments, you will complete a intensive peer review of another student’s project, using a peer review handout and methodology I’ll provide.
