Milestones are graded on the following scale:
| Grade | Percentage |
|---|---|
| Check-plus | 100% |
| Check | 85% |
| Check-minus | 70% |
U grades are 0%. Milestones which earn U grades may be resubmitted within one week, and may earn a check-minus.
All other work is graded on a ten-point scale. Here's how I map letter grades to percentages:

| A+ | 100 |
| A | 95 |
| A- | 90 |
| B+ | 88 |
| B | 85 |
| B- | 80 |
| C+ | 78 |
| C | 75 |
| C- | 70 |
| D | 65 |
| F | 50 |
Usually, final grades follow this rubric, using powers of ten. However, because I cancelled the social network assignment, here’s the final grading scale which will be used in class:
| Points | Final grade |
|---|---|
| 850-765 | A |
| 849-680 | B |
| 679-595 | C |
| 594-510 | D |
| 509-0 | F |

| Class participation, first half | 75 |
| Second essay | 350 |
| Class participation, second half | 125 |
