Grading

I use the following grade scales and standards in all my courses.

* A grade of U is assigned in ENG 180 if a student’s did not pass the course but made a good faith effort. (More about U grades.)

Point percentages earned for letter grades

On assignments where letter grades are given, the following number of points are awarded.

• A grade of U is assigned on draft work, when a student does not fulfill minimum assignment objectives. Assignments which earn U grades can be resubmitted for up to 70% of allowable points.
• A grade of X is assigned on final work when a student does not fulfill minimum assignment objectives.
