Assignments
There are two major assignments in the course. Both will be hypertext projects which you post on the Web, using the resources provided by WIU. See the class schedule for more information.
The first major project is a "traditional" hypertext which analyzes two or three concepts we've confronted this semester. The second and final project takes on the shift from literacy to electracy in two components.
Other assignments include the following:
- You will produce a home page that provides access to all the work you produce in the course, as well as personal information or other content you’d like to include. You will develop an initial home page by 9/17, and will revise it throughout the semester to reflect the work you are doing in the course.
- Using my Moodle courseware server, we will discuss issues related to the course, to share links and other information, and to create web pages and other online projects. (This will be especially useful for graduate students.)
- We will begin the semester with an email discussion list which will be used for announcements and to discuss the course texts and content. At midterm, we will decide if discussions will continue on email or be moved to the courseware server.
- For both major assignments, you will complete a intensive peer review of another student’s project, using a peer review handout and methodology I’ll provide.
