ENG 480G, Computers & Writing
Bradley Dilger, Fall 2004, Western Illinois University

This course investigates the relationship between computers and writing—the “and” that joins them together. We’ll study the way computers and other media are understood in American culture by producing electronic texts, reading media studies theory, and examining the way computers and technology are portrayed in television, film, and other forms. Graduate students in the course will extend this work to pedagogy, considering the ways the use of computers affects teaching in composition and other disciplines.

Please read this full introduction to the course, as well as the other parts of the syllabus below.
